5 Ways to Boost Your Web Site Traffic Without Spending More Money

It might sound sacrilegious for an SEO to say, but organic search engine optimization and Pay-Per-Click campaigns are not the only ways to get more traffic to your web site. They are the most effective at getting well-targeted traffic to your site, but there are other ways to get people to visit your site that won't cost you any more money than you are already spending.

1. Twitter. We covered this a lot before, but I'll say it again. Get yourself a Twitter account. Brand it, making sure your URL is in your profile. Set up a Tweetlater account and use the auto-responder to send new followers a welcome message, including your URL. Then follow lots of people! Careful not to send up red flags though, try to limit following new people to about 150 per day, if that. Then tweet new blog posts, new articles, new additions to your web site, changes at your company and always include your URL. Engage your followers in good discussion as well, and retweet anything you see that you like. This will ensure you are viewed as a good Tweeter, and many people will follow you simply because of that.

2. If you're an SEO or internet marketer, submit your articles to Sphinn. This draws a lot of traffic.

3. Become involved in industry discussions. Whichever industry you are in, find blogs, forums, Twitter users, Facebook fan pages, etc that relate to your industry and join in the conversation. Use your URL as your signature in forums, fill out comment forms with your URL and plug your URL as many times as you can without becoming completely annoying to other users.

4. Stumbleupon. Submit any and all articles to StumbleUpon and encourage all your users to vote for them.

5. Offline: Not enough people make proper use of offline mediums to get their URL out there. Business cards, letter heads, product labels, uniforms, corporate gifts, promotional items, vehicles, paystubs, windows, voicemail, television, radio and print ads, signage, brochures, flyers, posters, billboards, etc. should all have your URL on them. You should have your URL in your email signature as well.

These few easy steps will definitely bring new traffic to your site. Now it's up to you to make sure those new web site visitors turn into business.
